Oval Brand Fire Products was founded by inventor Kevin Kozlowski to solve the following problem - How can one fit a 5 lb or 10 lb fire extinguisher into both a fully recessed cabinet and into a standard depth wall?
Before Oval Brand, this was not possible with standard round extinguishers. Walls were previously required to be built deeper than standard, wasting valuable space and resources.
With Oval Brand's low profile fire extinguishers, designers can now fit fully recessed extinguisher cabinets into standard 3-5/8" studded walls...even fire rated cabinets can fit.
Standard non-fire rated cabinets can now also fit into 2-1/2" studded partitions. 2-1/2" wall studs are becoming more common, especially in locals like New York City where space is a premium and rents are costly.
Fully recessed cabinets can now also fit into 6" concrete block (aka CMU). Before Oval Brand, CMU walls were commonly increased to 10" or 12" on depth solely for the fire extinguisher cabinets to fit.
Oval Brand's innovative engineering didn't stop with just a new method for manufacturing pressure vessels. We also reinvented the fire extinguisher wall hook. Unlike other brands, our fire extinguishers don't easily fall from their hooks when bumped into.
Lastly, was also solved another common problem associated with fire extinguishers. Oval Brand fire extinguishers always comply with the protruding object requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), International Fire Code (IFC), ANSI/ICC A117.1 (i.e. the accessibility requirements in your local building code), and the new international accessibility standard ISO 21542.
